5:00 pm Celebration of the Holy Mass - Dec. 9, 2023 - Welcome to the celebration of the Saturday Vigil Mass for the this Second Sunday of Advent. Advent is a time to prepare our hearts for the coming of the Lord at Christmas.
The Lord Jesus Christ comes to baptize each one of us in his Holy Spirit so that we may walk in his truth and holiness and radiate the joy of the Gospel to all we meet. Like John the Baptist, we too are called to give testimony to the light and the truth of Christ.

2023-12-9 Saturday 8:30 am celebration of the holy Mass - Good morning and welcome to the celebration of the holy Mass and the Feast of Saint Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin to whom, on this date in 1531, the Blessed Virgin appeared at Tepeyac, near Mexico City. On another visit, Our Lady sent Juan Diego to gather flowers and present them to the bishop. When he did so, the flowers he had gathered in his cloak fell away, revealing an image of the Blessed Virgin that miraculously appeared on his tilma.

In the reading from the holy Gospel, Saint Matthew writes of when Jesus summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to cure every disease and sickness. Then he sent them out with the following instructions; "Go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. As you go, proclaim the good news. 'The kingdom of heaven has come near.'"

The response to the Psalm is: "Happy are all who long for the coming of the Lord."

5:15 pm Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament followed by the Holy Mass Dec. 8/23 - Welcome to our time of adoration followed by the Holy Mass. Today we celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In our reading from Genesis we hear of Adam and Eve's fall from grace and how they hid from God because of shame. This was not the plan that God ever had for us. Through Mary, God would bring back the love and peace that he desired for each one of us through the Incarnation of his Son. Let us contemplate Mary's role in the history of salvation. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us!
