RCIA Adapted for Children:
(Baptism Preparation for Children & Youth)
RCIA Adapted for Children is a process designed for unbaptized children and youth between 6 and 16 years of age. Parents and sponsors journey along with the children during the time of formation in preparation for initiation into the Catholic Faith through Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. The RCIA process is year-round and can begin at any time of the year. The length of time in the process varies with the needs of each child/family.
We also include in this group those children who were baptized in another Christian tradition and who are asking to become full members of the Catholic Church. They make a Profession of Faith in the Catholic Church before being admitted to the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
Inquiry Sessions take place on Monday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm for those beginning the process.
Sessions for Catechumens take place on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm.
Sending Forth for catechumens takes place on Sunday morning during the 10:30 am Mass.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
This is a process of welcoming those people, 16 years of age or older, who may wish to explore baptism as an adult, complete their initiation as Catholics through the sacraments of confirmation and Eucharist, or having been baptized in another Christian tradition, wish to be received into full communion with the church. This is a year-round, on-going process where individuals may join us at any time.
The RCIA process respects the personal and unique journey of each individual; each person journeys at his or her own pace. The process not only includes study and liturgy, but initiation to apostolic action and life in the community.
Many hands, hearts, feet, knees, and voices are needed to make the RCIA process the life-giving and grace-filled experience it is meant to be. Please don’t hesitate to come forward and share your gifts of talent and time within the RCIA ministry.
