Lent and Easter Celebrations

Soup and Bread Lenten Series Friday evenings:  5:45 – 6:30 pm, Parish Hall.  Grace begins our delicious, but simple, supper of homemade soup and fresh bread, which also supports our Lenten fasting.  6:30 pm to 7:00 pm: features a guest speaker on a variety of community issues for the adults.  Children are invited to watch a 30 minute video.  Supervision will be provided.  Preschoolers will be supervised in the nursery while they play.  7:15 pm – 7:45 pm:  Stations of the Cross led by parish ministries and groups. 7:45 pm:  Sacrament of Reconciliation is available after the Stations of the Cross (except March 19).  Go to “Bulletins” OLPH-Bul-20100221.pdf for details.

Parish Lenten Penitential Service: Tuesday, March 2, 7:00 pm.

World Day of Prayer:  All parishioners are invited to join us for the World Day of Prayer on Friday, March 5, 7:15 pm.  This is a worldwide movement of Christians of many traditions, who come together on the first Friday of March each year, to observe a common day of prayer.  This year’s ecumenical event is sponsored by the CWL.

Lent - Easter Opportunities: As we journey through the Lenten desert, equipped with the traditional practices of prayer, fating and almsgiving, our parish community is committing to the following two local opportunities of caring and sharing.  Easter Hampers will be available to ensure that everyone has all the trimmings for a traditional Easter dinner.  Bags filled with personal care items will be collected for the Inner City Pastoral Ministry.  For details how you can assist, go to “Bulletins” OLPH-Bul-20100221.
